Values · How we work
We take long cuts.
That’s the first of seven values we run the shop on. Here are all of them — the same version we use inside the company, because not having a client version and a company version is number three.
01 / THE SEVEN
Written down early. Held daily.
We take long cuts
We do the hard things the right way — behind the walls, in the details, and in the systems. The opposite of shortcuts. Especially when no one will see. Especially when 99 times out of 100, no one will care. Luck favors the prepared.
Ship it
We ship when it’s safe, honest, and high quality — even if it’s not perfect. The yang to the yin of long cuts. We can’t solve every problem in theory; at some point the work needs real cycles. Iterate and improve. Progress over perfection.
When in doubt, tell the truth
Easier than keeping track of which version you told which person. We don’t have a client version and a company version of a document. Everyone works from the same materials, and what’s confidential gets called out.
Bad news early
It will come out eventually anyhow. We own the message and we own the issue.
We seek opportunities to learn daily
We keep what we can in-house, and we build a team that doesn’t want to be siloed into one trade or one type of work.
We are owed nothing
We are not entitled to the next job, the next referral, or anyone’s trust. We earn it daily.
No job is beneath us
We are servants to our customers, and our leaders are servants to the team. We relish rolling up our sleeves, getting dirty, and getting the job done.
